Project Execution

knowledge projects are those that produce a greater understanding for the whole team. Generally, these types of projects are undertaken by an individual or small group. They investigate an issue or problem and then present their research to members of the course.

The presentation can be in one of two ways

* As an exhibitor.

are those where you analyze data to determine next steps to be performed.

analysis projects require you to gather information and draw conclusions from it. Therefore, often involve document analysis, or really keep up with the next steps, such as creating a user guide.

§ analyze whether it is meeting its goals or not the help desk. At the beginning of this course, you set goals for your help desk, for example, you may have set a goal to respond within an hour to an application. Develop a draft analysis to determine whether it is achieving a specific goal and then make recommendations on how to improve in this area.

Research Projects

research projects are those where you can find answers to questions and then uses those responses as the basis for further analysis or to make recommendations. For example, you want to identify areas where support help desk members require further training. So ask questions about it to team members and then uses their answers to determine the type of training required and makes recommendations on appropriate training programs.

might consider the following research projects:

§ Investigate organizations related to the help desk. Conduct research online and elsewhere to determine what types of help desk focused organizations exist and what they do.

§ might research on companies and professional organizations for technical help desk, training organizations, certification organizations, and so on. Create a document that summarizes this information and present it to your computer, so they can use to find more about careers in the IT field.
